Penny was officially diagnosed with LP on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.  Only July 4th, after a very scary incident, we came to realize that Penny’s breathing problems weren’t just “old age” and that there was something very serious wrong with her.  After a lot of frustrating internet searches, we stumbled upon articles about laryngeal paralysis and its symptoms.  They described exactly what was going on with Penny.

Everywhere I looked, LP was described as a common disorder yet I had never heard of it before and it took many, many searches using just the right keywords to come across it.  I hope this site can help other dog owners who find themselves in the same confusing and frightening situation we were in.
